BOOM! Shank 2 Survival Mode has 16 different costumes, each with their own stat bonuses!
Watch this to learn more about our Survival Mode! To give a brief overview, Shank 2′s Survival Mode has:

- Unlock 16 different costumes, each with their own stat boosts
- Earn cash and purchase reinforcements (like the War Boar!)
- 3 unique locations to smash your enemies in
Holy crap, the game is launching next week: Feb 7 on PSN and PC, Feb 8 on XBLA!
We’re releasing a Shank 2 comic book!
This is super exciting for us as we’re all huge comic book nerds. We’re still working out the distribution, but in the meantime if you want up to date information on the comic, sign up for our mailing list and we’ll be happy to keep you informed.
The comic will tie the first and second Shank story arcs together, and features the art of our very own Jeff Agala and Vangelis Christou. I’ve seen the works in progress, and let me tell you, it’s beautiful.

Yes, that’s right! Shank 2 comes to PSN (North America) and PC on February 7, and XBLA and PSN (Europe) on February 8!
Here’s another uncut gameplay clip as a little celebration. Keep coming back here in the following weeks — we’ve got more cool stuff in the works!
Also, we’re going to be announcing some new things from Klei in the coming months — sign up for our mailing list if you’d like to be notified!
Since Shank 1 came out, we’ve given an enormous amount of time thinking about the user experience of Shank, and we regularly bring players in to see what works, and what doesn’t. I just want to share one story, among dozens of unexpected, fantastic, humbling experiences during development.
We’re getting so close! I also realized we haven’t posted video footage in quite some time, so here’s a quick video record of Marcus kicking some ass in Shank 2, including some slick use of pouncing, shotguns, and counters.
Also, thanks to everyone who bought a copy of the Humble Indie Bundle — the promotion is now closed, but we sold over 400K copies in the space of two weeks!
Update: there is an interim, not final build for the graphics and performance bugs available here. In particular, the Macs and lower end Linux systems should see significant speed improvements. Once the other bugs are resolved, we will do an official new build push. Let us know how it goes for you!
Happy New Year, folks!
Our awesome Linux and Mac porter Ryan Gordon has released as open source some tools that he created during the port of Shank to Linux / OSX. Every Humble Indie Bundle, the good folks try and release some open source material, and this time around Shank needed some heavy work, and we’re happy that it could someday help others, too. Take a look here to get a nice libtheora integration as well as an updated version of MojoShader.
I also got an update from Ryan that, although he’s still up to his neck in work, he’s going to try and carve out time this week to fix the remaining issues on the OSX / Linux ports. Sorry about the wait, folks! It’s a bit out of my control but I’ll keep following up and posting here as I hear more.
Humble Indie Bundle 4 now includes the full Official Soundtrack for every bundled game, which of course includes the Shank 1 OST!
That’s 5 games for whatever you want, helps charity, and includes 7 game soundtracks. Seriously, even if Shank wasn’t a part of the bundle, it’s a killer deal!
UPDATE: We’ve now also posted the lossless FLAC version that you can download for free!
Also, Ryan is working hard to fix issues on the new platforms that we’ve launched on. Note that he’s also working on Super Meat Boy and other HIB ports, so please be patient — he’s only (super) human. Hit the jump for some updates on known issues that we’re looking into.
